This last month has been a zoo. One parent and two friends died, I drove 2000 miles in 44 hours hauling stuff home and landed a new day job which has thrown my schedule off (which explains the bizarre update times).
To help with the schedule, I picked up a small Wacom Cintiq (the things I do to keep you happy…). Excluding the battle setting this pig up, it seems that it took less time to do today’s comic. Unfortunately, I didn’t time myself and took a hefty break in the middle to do some cleaning, but it was less than five hours between start time and finish time. If I get lucky, I’ll have time this busy weekend to do Wednesday’s comic.
Aagh! More delays. I just started a new full-time gig this week and haven’t had time to update the comic until now. Expect next Wednesday’s installation to be AWOL (unless a miracle occurs).
Today I’m doing more experimenting with trees (not really happy with them – I guess they’re OK for the current series) and shading (not happy there, either (natch)).
Sorry for the delay (this has been a recorded message).
My father passed away on the 2nd and I had to fly out for the funeral. Ended up cleaning some stuff out of the house and driving it back here (~2000 miles in 44 hours – urgh).
Today’s experiment: me trying to make up my mind on how I want to draw trees. And shading. And backgrounds in general. Summary: a lot of work for a lame joke.
Playing with text balloons, again. First on in panel one is an ellipse, but the others are four point splines.
Obscure fact: panel three is the only second time I’ve ever drawn a horse (or part, thereof). Panel two was the first time.
