This week’s experiment: the “out sick” “comic.” Not so much a comic as a pseudo/meta-comic. Also, drawing on the road.

A four day cold followed by an early flight doesn’t leave a lot of time for comic drawing. I ended up “drawing” this on in the hotel.

So, if you’re wondering why the artwork looks worse than usual, it was drawn on the road with a mouse.

Or, if you’re wondering why the artwork looks better than usual, it was drawn on the road with a mouse.

One of these days, I have to make up a bunch of “excuse” images – out sick, on vacation, on a business trip, out to lunch, I don’t wanna make a comic and you can’t make me – you know, the usual, solid reasons.

Of course, this one blows the first rule of “no comic” comics: it has to be sketched in “pencil” (real or virtual) and Gimp’s basic pencil looks more like a pen to me (too solid, not sketchy enough). I’ll have to change the settings, next time.
